Grots-Ville Today - Glance at Mixenden Resevior

A very murky morning cleared slightly to rain and wind after lunch.

I had a long squint into the gloom from the garden when news of 3 Whoopers leaving Ringstone Reservoir NW pinged on my Calderdale WhatsApp (AC).

I had another long squint into the gloom from the garden when another WhatsApp alert came through a bit later (AC/ PD) with news of Pinkies in a similar direction.

My garden in NNW of Ringstone reservoir and most birds move out of sight to the west of me.

so..

I DID NOT SEE OWT.

This afternoon we had a visit to make to Halifax and Sue 'kindly' stopped near Mixenden Reservoir on the way home so I could make a quick dash , in the rain, up the  'Dog Poo' track there to have a Gander at the water from the top gate.

I was Whooping some Whoopers might have dropped in.

The rain was pretty heavy and my camera is allergic to rain so I dashed to the gate, snapped a few photies, and dashed back.

Luckily my Commando training...

(What I learnt , at 11 years old, from an excerpt in the Dandy Comic) ...

... was very advantageous because I only got a small amount of Dog Poo on the sole of each boot.

These canine poo-poos came off quite easily onto Sue's spotless car mats - well they were  once spotless not now -  I guess.

A bit later Sue introduced me to her new all swinging and dancing 4 way wheel wrench.

The doctor tells me that the bruising and swelling may take some time to heal.

And now - for your delectation and delight - here are my super duper Bird emojis.

What I drawered meseen this aft - the birds they refer to are self explanatory ?

Well maybe.

(I'll have to post the emoji when I see the real thing, if ever).

Birds:-

c140 Starlings - Illingworth, Pavement lane wires.

Mixenden.

Iv'e posted a few Gull photos - in case I've overlooked a Relict.
