A Blog for Insomniacs

Insomniacs ......'Take' this blog before bedtime - it's guaranteed to induce sleep zzzzzzzzzzzz.

This morning I drove over to Ogden Water or Og-dead Water some might say.

Having seen next to nowt half way around the circuit, I decided to try my luck on the moors hoping for Red Grouse, Golden Plover or maybe a Crossbill.

With this is mind I walked up to the Giants Tooth, and a bit beyond where I gawped over the fence at the heather trembling in the gale force wind up here.

On my way up I passed many conifers that had bitten the dust.

On arrival at the Tooth it was extremely windy and not one of my target birds said hello - miserable sods.

Later, I had a good laugh in the cafe and some choc-choc and coffee.

After lunch we dropped some Marmalade off on Percy Road and I took the opportunity not to see some exciting more birdlife,

On a more optimistic note I did not get wet today -  yipeeee and ...

The exercise was pretty beneficial - yipeeee 2 and ...

It's light 'till nearly 5 p.m. yipeeee 3.

Birds:-

Ogden:

Bullfinch.

C30 Gulls.

Mallards.

1 Meadow Pipit flushed from near the tooth.

Local Walk:

Common Gulls.

(There is some juice in the Raggalds Flood - seen from Percy Rd top).

A wet day forecast for tomorrow, less windy with east in the wind, so we'll see.

Soil Hill from Giant's Tooth.
