Local Lanes & The Final Review for 2024 - June to Decemeber

Still this cold barren white desert remains in place.

Much the same again today, cold, crisp and very bright - a lot like me........

except perhaps the very bright bit.

But I do Walkers Cheese & Onion.

Local:

Bradshaw fields and lanes were pretty dead this a.m.

Best of a poor show was 1 Little Owl and 2 Stock Doves.

(No Partridge species seen today).

Having run out of caviar and breadsticks we had to go-a-shopping this afternoon to Fortnum & Mason.

I found it a tad dodgy landing the old Sikorsky S-76 in The Royal Exchange, EC3 this aft.... but needs must .... when time is of the essence.

F & M didn't impress much - looked very Aldi-esque to me.
Perhaps my gyroscope was a smidgen dickey.

Local:

2024 Review June to December.

The usual slow down of bird sightings as summer approached and I was away for quite a few days during this period.

A Mandarin Duck turned up at Shibden 19th August.

However November and December 2024 brought some great birds.

November:

02/11/24 - Mediterranean Gull - Ogden.

07/11/24 - Slavonian Grebe - Lee Dam, Lumbutts.

11/11/24 - Scarlet Tanager - Shelf.

December:

03/12/24 - Red Throated Diver - Hebden Bridge Canal.

I'm not a big Twitcher but that's a poor excuse for missing the following Birds in 2024!

Brambling, Crossbill, Cuckoo, Pied Flycatcher, Spotted Flycatcher, Gt. White Egret. Gadwall, Greenshank.

Hen Harrier, Marsh Harrier, Hobby, Merlin, Osprey.

Tree Pipit, Grey Plover, Common Redstart. Black Redstart.

No Tern Species seen.

Grasshopper Warbler, Wigeon and Woodcock.

Which makes 22+  species!
