Soil Hiil and Red Necked Grebe Twitch.

I enjoyed a morning's birding with DJB on Soil Hill this morning.

Afterwards we decided to have a look for the Red Neck Grebe that has been at Leeshaw Reservoir , Oxenhope since 30th December, 2024 (M.P. & B.V.). B.O.G.

On arrival at Leeshaw the Red Necked Grebe was very obliging diving at the East end of the reservoir under the blue metal bridge construction.

After that it soon swan away from us, and remained distant for a good while.

Some good views were available through DJB's scope though.

It did come a bit nearer later on, just before it was time for us to leave.

The bird seemed to be feeding well.

In among there were many Greylag and Canada Geese to look through.

One Pink Footed Geese was in amongst the many Greylag.
