Soil Hill and Bradshaw Fields

A sunny but extremely cold day today - well it seemed that way on Soil Hill top where a strong ESE wind blew.

A great day for a walk but , apparently , not so great for birds.

I went up Taylor Lane over Soil Hill main paths and along Ned Hill Track.

Home was via Ned Hill Road , Ingham Lane and Bradshaw Lane.

Having seen nowt I changed into my leaky wellies to walk along 'the bog'  through the farms to Ned Hill Road bottom and back.

Having seen next to nowt again ............

I cleaned me wellies ,  then Abi's football boots , then had a chocolate Oaty biscuit and a coffee and sat wondering where It had all gone wrong today!

Birds:-

1st Outing: 3 Red Legged Partridge.

2nd Outing: 4 Stock Dove.

Gulls, as usual, kicking about on both outings but very few in  the fields.

A big un might be summat? - see pic.

The big Ogden wind turbines , which were sold to us as the future for power generation,  have had 2 out of  9 units immobile the last twice I've looked at them from soil hill over a few weeks.

Which could be a loss of 22% if my maths is K-orrect - how much brass is that then?

Gulls all > East.

The Big Un.
