On The Buses / Soil Hill etc

Another day, another bus journey.

At 9:45 a.m we walked down to Bradshaw Church and caught the 502 Keighley bus as far as Cross Roads.
The 40 minute wait for the B3 bus to Hebden Bridge was passed by enjoying a leisurely coffee and a egg custard in Wildes Cafe.
The B3 bus ride was not as hair raising as some.
With an 'iffy weather forecast we decided to start walking from here to Todmorden instead of getting a bus to Tod and walking back.
Some sun and  light cloud gave way to dark clouds and some light rain came along.
I stopped it raining by putting my waterproofs on!

Having already consumed an egg custard we dropped the calories by sharing a Coronation Chicken sandwich which we ate in the trolley park in Lidl car park - dining al fresco again - gosh we are posh.

Just a small camera and not a lot of stop and stare time.

With all this bus riding malarky my birding 'list' is not looking very healthy so, as soon as we got in , I went out again and walked over soil hill and along the farm tracks.

I was hoping for a Whitethroat on The Hill  (DJB having seen a 'few' earlier in the week).
I was awarded with a singing and calling Whitethroat near the top of the north slope.
Tea time was fast approaching so I had limited time to hang about and the bird failed the photoshoot alas.

Quite sunny and mild here late afternoon with some pleasant bird song 'too boot'.
