Elland Bridge - Salterhebble Basin

A walk Mid-afternoon and it was hot 🔥 enough to boil a kettle.

I "enjoyed" a walk along the canal - well the enjoyable bit was eating my ham, pineapple and mustard sarnie (what I had prepared this morning with my excellent culinary expertise) as I sat on a canal lock gate.

Birds, however, were slarting themselves with sun lotion somewhere out of sight.

Birds:-

Blackcap, Chiffchaff.

The usual Tit species

Canada Geese.

Mallard one with 3 offspring.

Some sad birder photos:-

Funny having a sign about high interest rates along here.

Pattern on towpath made by sun through leaves.
Reminds me of someones face -  but I can't quite place who's?
