Ringstone Reservoir Barkisland

I had a shortish visit to Ringstone after lunch today.

Another hot one but a cooling breeze here was enjoyable.

Great to chat to Peter G. who was sporting a very fashionable sun hat (very Glastonbury Elvis!).
JB had been here previously and had seen a lot more birds than I managed (nowt new there) so this blog probably does not do the place justice!

Anyway here goes.

Birds:

c10 Swallow, 5 Pied Wagtail.

Heron being mobbed by Black Headed Gulls.

Greenfinch, Willow Warbler, Goldfinch, Bullfinch.

Skylark, 4 Stock Dove.

5 Tufted Duck.

Cormorant.

c20  Mostly Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

Possible Herring Gull (poor photos).

c10 Lapwing - very well camouflaged on the dark coloured stones.

5 Sand Martin - swooping to drink and also collecting mud.

2 Great Crested Grebe.

2 Oystercatcher.

Mallard.

3 Linnet.
