Soil Hill

After some misty stuff came up from town and dissipated a bit , I enjoyed a walk up to very windy Soil Hill mid-morning.

I had a long stand on the hill looking for a certain bird without any luck - nearest I got was some barge welders - appearing in a strange guise!!!

After a walkabout I headed off down Ned Hill Lane and along the farm tracks.

Just after east croft farm some young bullocks were in the field. Having had a near death experience with cattle,  in an earlier life,  I opted to go down the drive to the road rather than going through this field!

A bit of a poor do up there today.

I had a garden sky watch, for a while mid-afternoon, this too was a very windy affair with this wind direction , it fires into our garden.

Just Greenfinch calling and a few Large Gulls passed over head and a Buzzard was being mobbed by a Crow.

Birds:-

Kestrel.

4 Swallow.

Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie.

2 Stock Dove.

5 Skylark, 5 Whitethroat, Blackbird.

3 Willow Warbler.

Singing Garden Warbler (South of the north slope boundary wall before flying 20 yds down the north slope - still no photo!).

2 Curlew, 3 Swift.

4 Fledgling birds rolled and tumbled about in the field above the north slope entry wall.

Could have been Blackbird but they were lost to the long grass and bushesx in an instant.

5 Meadow Pipit.

Mallard.

3 Moorhen.

Buzzard and Large Gulls (Garden).

Clutching at straws!!!
