Sunday Evening.
The rain finally packed it's bags and left at 7:30 ish and I had a walk through the wet reeds and grass along the fields paths - but only to East Croft.
The rain had left some murky stuff draped on Swalesmoor Hills.
A few birds were on offer which helped pass the time quite nicely really.
Birds:-
A Kestrel (with prominent face markings) was enjoying 'high tea' perched on a telegraph pole.
A Heron flew past Ward's View.
A Pheasant was in Ward's View garden.
A couple of Meadow Pipits were heard.
2 Little Owls called and also a Red Legged Partridge called.
4 Stock Dove flew past and landed behind a far wall.
2 Swallow were low over the fields.
10 or so, Lesser Black-backed Gull, in two's, flew ENE.
and...
A couple of Blackbirds, The Jackdaw Gang and a few Crows completed my birding this evening.
Monday Evening:
Another long day with a drive to Halifax, then Copley, then home then over to Wakefield and back again - not my idea of fun at all!
Late evening I managed to slope off up the local fields.
Thunderstorms were evident over Halifax - seen from the garden - did not reach me while I was out and about, although I donned me waterproofs and wellies so I could have an internal sauna on my walk up the local fields.
Birds:-
A Buzzard called as I sat in the garden.
