Sue had a visit from her sister Ruth this morning so I took the opportunity to try and find something on Soil Hill.
It's a while since I've had chance to visit here and it seem that the 'levelling up' has been finished.
All the grass, small trees / shrubs have gone from the top replaced by soil, stone, brick and bits of other 'stuff'.
Probable great for a Snow Bunting or an autumn wader if some large ruts retain water? but not great for Skylark.
The north slope 'path' that is very overgrown with brambles maybe needs a "Scythe of relief".
The north side perimeter bushes and all the north slope looks to be untouched by the diggers.
I went home on my usual route, via Ned Hill Track and Crabtree Hall Farm etc. with, luckily, no cows or horses to worry about today.
It was good to see a Red Kite fairly low as I passed the top of Syke Lane on my way down Ned Hill Road.

3 Buzzards were flying noisily, together, seen from Bradshaw Lane.
Swift.

Possibly 2 Teal next to the pond - see absolutely awful photo - possibly not!!!
1 Whitethroat that flushed from the west side bushes, dropped out of sight, and continued to scold me.
A Kestrel, that was hunting along Ned Hill Track , caught nowt while I was watching.
Chaffinch.
