Sue went out to the cafe at Cross Roads with her her friend mid-morning leaving me free to drive over to Fly Flatts for a look.
Confucius he say "If venture to Fly Flatts, bring your coats and your hats".
Warm and quite muggy in Bradshaw, quite coooool and breezy at Fly Flatts.
Dry to start out but quite misty and drizzly unpleasant at the finish.
I always seem to struggle to see much new here.
Maybe it's because I am limited to the north end of the reservoir or maybe I can't see the wood for the trees.
Anyway, at least a Juvenile Wheatear made an appearance, flushing from the waterside rocks.
It was kind enough to land a while nearby to allow it's mug shot.
I watched a distant Common Sandpiper fly from north end along the water to land opposite the boat yard. I waited around a good while but it stayed put or at least didn't come my way.
The skies were quiet mostly.
Birds:-
100's of Canada Geese,
1 Greylag Goose ( see through the bins from the road).
10 plus Meadow Pipit.
1 Sand Martin.
10 Swallow.
4 Mallard.
1 Juv. Wheatear.
4 Lesser Black-backed Gull.
3 Black Headed Gull.
1 Common Sandpiper.
Kestrel.
A 'Black and White' dot was seen from the road on the very distant Cold Edge Dams.
