Helen, Sue's friend called this a.m. and I took the car for a slightly different walk around the Ogden Area. Well not the car! me boots, actually.
I parked near Jane Green and I walked down the good track down past Boggart Brigg, left across the promenade and left at the end to skirt across the moor to drop down and pass the club house , then along the stream, past the maintenance buildings to just beyond the "Mixenden stile". The return route was through the houses near Lane Head and then along Rocks Road (are you asleep yet?).
Windy and cool until the golf course where it was calm and mild.
Birds:-
No great shakes.
Whitethroat (scolding from undergrowth).
2 Raven > West.
C20 Goldfinch.
c30 Swallow.
Chiffchaff.
A Buzzard in a tree being mobbed by c30 Jackdaw.
2 Kestrel.
2 Pheasant.
Some healthy fresh air.
I had just a quick look at Ogden Water from the prom.in passing and did not improve on yesterday's birds!

Thats a good route around. You must have been behind me John. I had the 2 Raven over me mid morning coming from Soil Hill direction while I was nearing Mixenden Res'r. Checked the long hedge at Carrs Beck but no Redstart !
ReplyDeleteHad a good look along the hedge that runs up the field edge (after the stile) for Redstart - no joy. I do not do well here... this hedge is my nightmare!! John
