Although I had a drive over to Wakefield so we could visit "Abi and Co" on Saturday, I've not been beyond Bradshaw, birding, in a while.
I have been sky watching most days and most evenings I've gone on a short walk up the local fields with a visit to Raggalds one afternoon.
Today, seen from the garden, c100 mostly Lesser Black-backed Gulls and c20 Jackdaw were circling above - feeding on insects maybe?
2 Kestrel that were high and distant over Oats Royd left East pursued by a few Swallow.
A Buzzard was seen also high and yesterday a Raven called as it headed east.
The local fields had nothing much new but a Little Owl was seen most visits.
A Kestrel was seen.
Very few Meadow Pipits here.
A possible Peregrine was on a very, very distant Halifax Chimney, seen from the horse fields.
3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were in the fields with c10 Rook and the usual Stock Dove and Woodpigeon.
A Heron was near the Bradshaw Pond this evening.
A walk to the Raggalds was as interesting as it got - 22 Mistle Thrush in small groups flew low east landing in trees nearby.
