I parked on Turvin Road and walked full speed ahead along the excellent water board track.
Within 20 yds I met a birder , leaving, with a scope and bins and he explained the location of The Birds to me.
As I got to the reservoir wall a second birder, with a scope, was also just leaving and he explained the location of The Birds to me - simple I thought.
"Go to the bridge and The Birds are on a mud bank just in front , you should see 'em no problem" I was told.
When I arrived at the bridge, Whitehome was not the same reservoir as I was accustomed to!
The water was way off and the light was horrible with the afternoon rain clouds building to the west.
Of course I needed a scope or a birder with a scope but all the birders had B******D off.
Anyway I did my best which was pretty crap because I did not eyeball The Birds at all!
Before I had to quickly scoot all the way back again!
But it was nice to be cooled down by a sharp shower as I left.
Now as I sit here writing this drivel ......
Gosh - would you Christmas Eve-it - I can't find my dummy - MUMMY!!!
