Sue' friend Helen came mid-morning so I drove over to Ogden Water to do the usual circuit.
It was nice to bump into, and walk around the circuit, with a nice couple from Wyke, who were very interested in birds.
Unfortunately nothing out of the ordinary here today unless I've a Gull Special! When I look at the photos.
Dry, dullish , mild and calm - that's me - and the weather was pretty similar.
Late afternoon Sue had another visitor, this time from her sister Ruth, so I thought I drive over to Ogden and give it another try.
Not much, if any, improvement on my first visit but the forecast nasty weather transformed in to a two minute down pour.
Birds:-
Top of the shop was probably a Great Spotted Woodpecker at the apex of a conifer.
Bullfinch, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler.
Lesser Black-backed Gull,
Black Headed Gull.
Common Gull.
Most of the smaller Gulls were asleep.
3 Cormorant, Mallard.
Lots of Robins and Wrens about.
An addition this afternoon was a small flock of c20 Goldfinch in passerine alley trees.
A Raptor (looked like a Kestrel - through the bushes) flushed the lot as it flew near.
(No time for the cafe this a.m.)
