15:15 - 17:00
Another day and yet another visit to Ringstone Reservoir - mid-afternoon this time.
I had the usual walk along the reservoir wall to the north wall.
JB was just leaving and he pointed out a flock of Golden Plover , near the water, in among the east side rocks.
The rain soon arrived with a gusty wind , and it was quite cool, so I took shelter.
I sat on the grass behind the small wall that runs east/west at the north end of the water.
I could still see 50% of the reservoir without getting soaked as I was hoping something juicy might drop in - not bad really.
The meagre Gull count did increase to about 40 Black Headed Gull and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull during one hefty shower but most of the Gulls left when the rain stopped for a while.
Birds:-
c40 Black Headed Gull.
2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
29 Golden Plover - soon left south.
1 Cormorant.
2 Common Sandpiper.
2 Great Crested Grebe.
1 Male Tufted Duck.
2 Pied Wagtail.
Fewer Canada Geese than of late.
Saville Park.
Earlier morning I was passing Saville Park I had a quick look at the Gulls there.
Just Common and Black Headed Gulls present with a flock of Starlings.
