Bradshaw Fields - Soil Hill etc (Sunday)

I enjoyed my usual saunter through the fields and farms, up the grunt, up the oblique and around Soil Hill summit.

Missed out the north slope today though.

Home was via Taylor Lane.

Another windy one and after quite a 'wet' shower early on the rest of the walk was dry.

A Great Spotted Woodpecker that was sat on a  post , at the very top of Soil Hill, on the eastern boundary fence was quite a surprise.

A Raptor that looked to have a very large wingspan was very distant being mobbed by (probably) Crows.

However looking at the poor photos there might be two Raptors in the frame? Take a look.

A Buzzard no doubt!

It was good to have a laugh with two Dewsbury birders that I met along Percy Road.

Birds:-

Hard going.

2 Red Legged Partridge.

1 Little Owl.

Canada Geese with Gulls.

Long Tailed Tit, Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Dunnock, Chaffinch.

A few Blackbirds, very flighty.

Buzzard maybe two, maybe not.

Kestrel.

Great Spotted Woodpecker.

A Buzzard was being mobbed as I looked across to Oats Royd from the garden later.
