Mill Bank – Crag Vale – Withens Clough – Lubutts – Mankingholes – Todmorden.

Beautiful sunny spring day ramble.

9.35 – 539 Bus to Halifax.
10.35 - 11:15  - 531 Bus to Mill Bank.
16:00 - Todmorden Bus  to Halifax -
17:00  - Percy Shaw Halifax.

A bit of a change for me today - No binoculars, we had a strenuous walk ahead of us.

Leaving Mill Bank we were greeted with a GSW calling, a Meadow Pipit and a Skylark singing.

On the way to Flints decoy station  there was a Pied Wagtail and at Crag Vale a pr. Jay were in the trees.

Withens Clough Res. was very quiet with 3 Canada Goose, a Reed Bunting and plenty of midge type flies about.

Lumbutts / Mankinholes held LTT, Pied Wagtail, and a Wren.

I am sure my report does not do justice to the bird life, but we were in hiking mode today.

The bus from Todmorden dropped us near enough to the Wetherspoons Percy Shaw to allow us to enjoy some good grub and a bottle of plonk.

Home at 19:00.

Another good day out with plenty of exercise, lots of sunshine and some good grub at a reasonable price.
