SH Ogden Circular on a showery blustery day.

11:00 - 14:00

Soil Hill Approach.
On the approach to SH a Green Woodpecker was calling from the usual trees.
A Pied Wagtail was feeding on the Taylor Lane / Perseverance Road junction muck heap.

Soil Hill (10 mins. Circuit)
Gale was up there again she’d come up from the southwest. Put the wind up me.
On SH 3 Skylark were trying to be heard above the gale.

Pr Mallard on the fields near Coal Lane.
At the start of the bridleway opp. Coal lane 2 Goldcrest were in the pines also Blackbird , Magpie, 4 Woodpigeon.
In the hedge opp. the pines a Robin and Blue Tit were listening to the Sunday morning shoot.
Near the ‘activity’ field approaching Ogden there were a pr. Chaffinch and 5 Woodpigeon.

Ogden.
The bottom car park was full to bursting. I though it would be quiet today!
The Male Goldeneye was on the water diving in amongst the Mallard feeding area – a new location for me. Later it very kindly came over to the far side of the res. to see me, and let me get a decent  picture.
Also on the water 13 Canada Goose and the usual Mallard/ Gull population. Also a pair of Canada Goose seem to be keeping separate from the main bunch now. The usual tit population were seen on the way around with more than usual Coal Tit knocking about. Also on the circuit 3 Robin and a Wren.
The feeders had the usual tit gathering with a Blackbird and pr. Dunnock feeding. (No LTT or Nuthatch for me today).
