Spring at Bolton Abbey.


A beautiful day at Bolton Abbey brought the following rewards:-

1.       LTT 3
2.       Curlew 2
3.       Male Phesant 2
4.       Kestrel 2 (One carrying prey)
5.       Nuthatch 6
6.       Oystercatcher 22
7.       Lapwing
8.       Woodpigeon 6
9.       Robin 3
10.   Chaffinch 12
11.   House Sparrow
12.   Goldfinch
13.   Coal Tit 2
14.   Mistle Thrush
15.   Grey Waytail 4
16.   Pied Wagtail
17.   Mandarin Duck 3 (2M 1F)
18.   Common Buzzard
19.   Goosander 4 (3M 1F)
20.   Goldcrest (Probably).
21.   Song Thrush
22.   Dipper
23.   Greylag Goose 2
24.   Blue Tit
25.   Great Tit
26.   Blackbird
27.   Usual corvids.
28.   A White Duck?
29. Woodpecker drumming (not seen). Quite loud not many beats with a 3 or 4 min gap between.

  2. Some great pictures from a great birding location, I remember seeing a Dipper here for the first time soon after I started birding & thinking what a fantastic bird that just walks into & under water with no problem.
    I'll have to get my dad to take me again soon!

    Thanks for the comment. The parking is free weekdays until March 15th - £7.00 otherwise .Well worth it though. Hope you get there this spring.
