Soil Hill and Ogden

A good day out.

Soil Hill

11:00 Bright and Sunny.

Snipe flushed from the north end of the footpath – it flew a long way North before disappearing.
8 Goldfinch
Linnet
2 Magpie
10 Meadow Pipit
3 Skylark
Woodpigeon
4 Carrion Crow

Ned Hill Track & Coal Lane

Blue Tit, Wren and what I thought was a Willow Warbler but so late on in the season I guess it must have been a Chiffchaff.
Robin & a possible Snipe > NE calling.
Pied Wagtail.

Plantation Track to Ogden.

Pheasant M, Chaffinch, Jay, Wren

Ogden 12:00

The bird feeders were full but bereft of birds.

2 LBBG on the podium.
Usual BHG and a few Common Gull
Jay
2 Adult GCG and 1 juv. GCG
A Little Grebe was diving for food and having its booty nicked by 3 BHG.
7 Robin
Goldfinch bathing

Great Tit, Blue tit, Coal Tit, 4 LTT

Chaffinch and a Chiffchaff briefly singing.
Goldcrest.
Nuthatch
Tufted Duck.

Also two other birders doing the circuit, that I said a quick hello to, but afterwards wished I’d had a bit of a natter with.
