Soil Hill

9:50 am

A quick look around Soil Hill to assuage the trip to Leeds this aft.

Bright & Sunny early on with some dark clouds later.

Just a couple of Pheasant flushed as I walked the contour path also c20 Meadow Pipit took to the air.
C120 Lapwing feeding in the newly sown fields below the north slope.
A ‘big gull’ flew over high up and far off.
A Green Woodpecker heard calling from trees opposite SH track.
A few BHG were feeding in the fields below Roper Lane.
Looking north from 50 metres up Taylor Lane, a Little Owl was sunning itself on a farm wall.

Also seen - a Wren.

Leeds trip went exceedingly well. Left home 12:10 stitches out and a trip to the supermarket and back home by 15:00.

  1. Good photos John, did well to get the Little Owl.
Glad all went well with Sue, always a good sign of recovery when they head for the supermarket.
Lynda was there within 2 weeks of coming out of intensive care.

  2. Sue's not a shopper but 2 weeks on the couch has made the supermarket interesting.
    Hope Lynda 's coping ok.
