A
trip to Junction 32 Castleford Shopping Mall today.
Wipee!
I screamed – Hey up now Victor – you know when you get excited like that you’ll
soil your Y fronts, I hear you say.
We
had to exchange a Christmas present for a larger size (not the hat - yep - you got it – the Y fronts).
Back at base approx 15:00 allowed for a quick
circular walk – Bradshaw Lane – Raggalds Flood – Perseverance Road - Taylor Lane – Bradshaw.
It was beautiful bright sunshine but out of the sun
very cold, with sections of Taylor Lane still bottle ice.
In the large trees outside the house there was some
liquid twittering from Goldcrest and a Mistle Thrush (I think).
On the way to Raggalds there were 14 Lapwing and 2
Starling feeding in the sunshine, looking pretty. A little higher C25 small
gulls were in the fields mainly Common Gull with the odd Black Headed Gull.
The flood was frozen solid – but apparently we are
going to get lots of juice later in the week to replenish it, should it need it.
Not a lot else to report just a few House Sparrow and Blue Tit on Perseverance Road and Wren and a Blackbird
on the wall on Taylor Lane together with 3 Carrion Crow looking fed up.
The Lapwing took to the air as I descended Taylor
Lane, presumably to roost somewhere and gulls were going over in dribs and drabs to roost.
Today's funny book titles:
John's 2015 Birding List by Mike Ray Scopic
Bubbles in the bath by Win.
D. Bottom.
Flipping eckers like, they are so funny I need to change me pants again.
