Cinderella and a windy Soil Hill and Raggalds Flood Area.

(p.s. Just taken a look at the "lower pond photos" and they are not Mallard - anyone want to hazard a guess as to what the duck are?")

A very poor cropped version of the photo lower down the page. I think Teal??

A busy day today with Sue having a 6:30 am start to take Emma to the hospital for a permanent pot replacement for her broken wrist.

While Sue was away I managed a couple of hours on Soil Hill.

Then we had to dash off to Heckmondwike to pick up Abigail and take her to see Cindererella at The Cedar Court Hotel – Anley Top Huddersfield – Oh! Yes we did!
On the way past the trailer field there were C50 Lapwing in the fields there.
The pantomime was Brilliant with even a free ice-cream at the interval!
Oh yes there was!
As we were leaving the pantomime, Starlings were coming in to roost – a lovely sight to see late afternoon.

Soil Hill 9:25 – 10:30 another windy One

I dropped some assorted birdseed  - well it is Christmas.
On the way up Taylor Lane a Kestrel flew over and C8 Fieldfare, 1 Mistle Thrush and a few Starlings were feeding in the fields with the shelter of a wall.
No Chrissie presents for me up here this morning for me though, a walk around the perimeter path brought me …..ziltch!
2 duck were on the lower North Side pond – Mallards most prob.
From Soil Hill I walked east past the huge turbine and across a few field bottoms to cross the wall at a really boggy section of the path and drop down to the first corner on Perseverance Road.
A stroll down the road brought me to a windy and cold deserted Raggalds Flood just 2 Carrion Crow.

A Pied Wagtail flew over as I went towards the football field opposite the Raggalds Inn and the football pitch there held 12 Lapwing and a few small gulls.
