Bingley & The return of Raggalds Flood.

After Emma and Abigail for a few days it was cleaning day today – such fun!

Bingley.

It was a lovely bright but very cold day and we managed a short stroll along the canal at Bingley 5 rise locks this aft.

I was hoping that there might just be a Waxwing , but no joy there, and this late on in the winter, I doubt if I’ll see one now.

There were lots of cyclist to side step today and just the usual birds seen.
A Goldcrest by the side of the canal was a bit of a bonus though.

Raggalds Flood.

We stopped for a minute or two to take a look at Raggalds Flood.

As we slowed down there were maybe 30 Lapwing on the waters edge but most of them had left by the time we came to a stop!

Just a few Mallard present with the Lapwing but it was pleasing that the flood had regained some interest from the Lapwing.

Following the recent very wet spell,  maybe this latest bit of dry weather, has dried up some of the smaller ‘puddles’ and the flood my retain it's water & bird life.
