Another clammy overcast morning gave way to rain
this afternoon as I had a walk around Ogden Water.
The Male Goosander was asleep by the bread-lobbers
area when I arrived but it had livened up a bit and was feeding at the north
end on my departure.
I did a circuit of the water, hung around the north
end intake for a while then had a short stroll in the woods before turning left
at the car park and going up the top of the woods looking for Green Woodpecker.
No sight nor sound of a Woodpecker today though.
In addition to the Male Goosander the water held 13
Canada Geese, Mallard and 1 Black Headed Gull.
Lots of Robins about feeding young.
A solitary Swallow was feeding/drinking along the
water.
On the circuit, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and by
the north end intake a Grey Wagtail
The walk into the woods paid off with the sighting
of a Treecreeper on a dark conifer tree.
Hope this November weather picks up soon.
The Blue Tits are busy feeding the young my Blue Tit
box at home.
They seem to be able to fly 50 yds, to the same tree
each time, and come back with a small caterpillar with ease.
A peaceful Ogden Water
Plenty of potential
