I enjoyed a walk up and over Soil Hill, along Coal Lane and I also had a quick look at the conifers opposite Coal Lane while I was waiting for a lift from Sue,as we were going to Drop Farm Cafe, Oxenhope for lunch.
Looking over towards Roper Lane from Bradshaw Lane, A Little Owl was on some stones in the fields. I got a couple of distance photos before it disappeared.
The usual birds on/around Soil Hill but with an added bonus.
Birds:-
Pied Wagtail, 2 Mistle Thrush, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Linnet, Pheasant.
A real surprise were 3 Wheatear on the North West boundary fence.
Lots of Lesser Black-backed Gulls gliding over, slowly, looking for a quick meal?
At least 4 Whitethroat (probably a lot more).
Swift, Swallow were buzzing around.
A quick glance at the conifers, along the track opposite Coal Lane , awaiting my taxi to Drop Farm Cafe revealed a Coal Tit and there were lots of young bird calls - presumably Coal Tit also.
A family of Great Tit were here and a Great Spotted Woodpecker called twice but I failed to see it.
No sure if it's audible enough but there is a bird call/song 10 seconds into this video that I can't place.
Maybe Whitethroat not sure.
Nice find on the juv Wheatears
