Bolton Abbey and around and about.

We took Sue’s dad for a run out ,and a wheelchair push, to Bolton Abbey.
(5 Swift seen on the way there).

We had a short stroll into the woods and back and over the bridge and along the river for a few hundred yards.

I had a very quick look with bins and camera, not doing the place justice at all.
There were 3 Goosander , 3 Grey Wagtail and a Dipper seen on/around the river.
A Treecreeper (I believe) shot across the path landing behind a tree then disappearing into thin air!

Earlier in the week we had Abigail and Emma to entertain but I did have the odd jaunt up to Soil Hill – via Taylor Lane. No Cuckoo about although I did check out the many nettle crops.

We also had a trip or two to Shibden park so Abigail could let off steam.

Soil Hill:

There were a couple of Kestrel and the usual Meadow Pipits with the odd Skylark seen during a stroll with Dave B. the postie.
Also during the stroll we happened upon a piece of camera kit, misplaced earlier!

Enjoyed the chat Dave – sorry about  the jokes.
I only know 1960’s jokes I’m afraid.
