St. Annes

We enjoyed a few days at the seaside with Emma and Abigail early  last week.
The weather was exceptionally 'British' with rain, drizzle, wind and a little sunshine , but we managed some time on the beach building sand castles.

An hour or so was also spent searching for clues to Abigail's mysterious pirate 'Black Gull'.
The sand goes out forever here, before reaching the sea, so there was plenty of beach to search.

The main clues revolved around Large Tractor Tyre prints, Large Trainer footprints and a dog's pawprint.

Black Gull remained unseen , however, and after our long search had  come out blank, I was politely informed by Abigail that:-

"You do know of course that Black Gull the pirate is invisible"

I understood the relevance of the tracks then.

We stopped for a short while on the way home and I managed some mostly megga long distance wader photos.

The weather was very windy with drizzle, so the pics are dull and nothing to send a postcard home about.

I've had a stab at identifying some sp. putting the sp. name in the corner of the pic.
I'm afraid that there are too many ??? as well!

(We also had a day out at Whitby on Sunday:-)

Here's a few pics from St Annes:-

If this is a Godwit, I'm thinking Black-Tailed Godwit, because of the longer Legs?
