The water was bereft of birds on my arrival with very little shoreline to see.
A couple of Lesser Black-backed Gull came and went with one staying a while on the res wall (that I mistook for a YLG - the gull not the wall - thanks for the ID Bri.).

There was also a Heron and a Cormorant here.
A solitary Greylag Goose poked it's head up above the long grass on the hillside - no doubt there were more about.
Top of the shop was a Wheatear sitting on a wall initially far off but it allowed me to approach fairly close to it.

There were c30 small gulls here with a couple of Lesser Black-backed Gulls as far as I could see.
A Cormorant sat as far away as possible from me and a Great Created Grebe was on the water - not much nearer.
Ponden 12:00
3 Black Headed Gulls and a Lesser Black-Backed Gull were on the water also some guys in a rowing boat.
I thought I'd got 2 House Martin feeding, far off, with a group of maybe 20 Swallow; but when the group turned up nearer to me later on I could not locate the House Martin - so I guess I was originally mistaken.
A single Buzzard came over and landed far off in trees.
Later 2 Buzzard were soaring high over the reservoir.
Another Wheatear popped up onto a wall within 10 yds of me and stayed a while.
A stroll down to the old Ponden Mill Shop buildings left me puzzled. 2 birds, 300 yds away, were catching flies and they behaved like Spotted Flycatchers but a decent picture and ID was impossible at such a long distance.

Disappointing birdwise today, but there is plenty of shoreline here now.
Mallard, Heron and a Moorhen was all I could muster.
The trees and bushes around the reservoir held lots of smaller birds but they were keeping a low profile as the weather hit 19 degrees and sticky with it.
Coming home 5 Mistle Thrush were on the telegraph wires near New Coley Garden Centre.
Lovely to see Wheatear one of my favourite birds.
