I had a run out to Leeshaw and Leeming reservoirs at Oxenhope this afternoon on a cold, blustery, drizzly day.
Leeshaw:
There was nothing on the very choppy water at Leeshaw and only a few small gulls airborne.
3 Cormorant were on the inspection building - I didn't stay long.
Leeming:
Blustery and drizzly here also, but there was some shelter to be had in the top (south) corner.
c10 Fieldfare were in the fields as I went up the tarmac track.
c10 Goldfinch flew over competing with the breeze.
The water had c50 Small Gulls and 1 Herring Gull (unless I'm mistaken!).
A windy circuit didn't have a lot going for it until I spotted 12 Bullfinch in one tree - a record number of Bullfinch for me.
A Moorhen was in the 'Kingfisher Pond' and a Sparrowhawk flew through - fast.
A Heron was struggling to make any headway against the wind.
Another dark day not helping the quality of my pics.
Snooker/Pool tonight with Neighbour John - must improve on my 2016 performance.
Herring Gull
1st Winter Common Gull
Leeming Reservoir - a bit bleak today
