√Local Walk

I had a late morning stroll up to the Raggalds, along to the farm shop down Deep Lane left along Maltkiln Lane to Cragg Lane and past Kelham towards Ogden.

It was very cold today, especially along the top road to the farm shop.

I had arranged to meet Sue for a bacon butty at Asa Nich's but it was shut due to the hols.
Sue picked me up and we decided to have a 2017 slimming lunch.
A fish butty in the Haworth Chippy - start the new year as you mean to go on, I say - fish being very good for you.

While I'm typing this our 2 resident Blackbirds are on the beech hedge, demanding some meal worms.

Birds:-

Nothing mega today but an interesting outing nonetheless.

A mixed flock of Lapwing, Fieldfare and Starling were in the fields, to the northeast of the Bonnet.

The Raggalds Flood was frozen with a just couple of Common Gulls for company.

The farm shop waste area had a lot of waste fruit being enjoyed by a good number of corvids.

Jackdaw and Carrion Crow was all that I picked out, I didn't see any Rooks.

Denholme cricket pitch area held c40 Lapwing.

Also hereabouts were 5 Red Legged Partridge and a Stock Dove.

Plenty of Woodpigeon seen along the walk with a galloping Roe Deer also seen somewhere along the way.

Also seen along the way:-
