Ilkley

Another day, another trip out.
We took Sue's dad, 96, to Ilkley today.
After some lunch in the Riverside Inn down by the park I managed an hour or so walk along the river wharf on a beautiful sunny day.

Over 30 bird species seen today , which was pretty pleasing.

A tick came along in the shape of 4 Oystercatcher seen at different times during the walk.

A Buzzard was calling from the moors.
(the moors were seen burning beyond Bolton Abbey, on our way home).
A Nuthatch was darting about in the riverside trees and a second Nuthatch was seen later.

A Kestrel flew past disappearing in nearby trees.
2 M. Goosander flew up river and , later, a F. Goosander landed nearby.

A Grey Wagtail was feeding near the old bridge and a Song Thrush was in good voice.

4 Mistle Thrush were near the tennis club.
A Moorhen was on the river bank and a Cormorant passed by overhead.

And.. I actually managed a half decent Long Tailed Tit photo.

Spot the Oystercatcher
