I thought I'd beat the rain this morning, so I headed off to Swalesmoor. This worked for a while but the wet stuff caught me eventually.
A cold Easterly breeze here with temperature of just 4 degrees.
Ringby Top 9:50 - 11:15
Nothing special popped out today.
2 Skylark, 3 Pied Wagtail, c30 Starling, 2 Meadow Pipit, c20 Woodpigeon.
The usual contingent of Carrion Crow and Magpie with many smaller (mainly Common) Gulls about.
Possible Herring Gull but I'm not sure.
(2 dead sheep added to today's pungent aroma).
Hag Lane circular - 11:15 - 12:15
After Ringby Top I tried my luck along the Hag lane bridleway.
A Buzzard called from way over Northowram, but I failed to pick it out of the encroaching gloom.
2 Jay, 2 Meadow Pipit and 2 Mistle Thrush with Chaffinch, Goldfinch and Greenfinch was about all I could muster.
You didn't do bad for such a miserable day John, respect.
