Bempton / Bridlington

A recent trip to Bridlington with a stop at Bempton.

Bempton:

We went to see the Puffin but for the first time in 5 years or so dipped.

Plenty of Razorbill and Guillemot but a couple of hours sea watching failed to pluck out any Orange from the Auks on the water.
An odd looking Cormorant on the water and then in flight - the picture is too poor for me to say if it is a Shag or not.

Other birds:

Tree Sparrow, Herring Gull, Gannet, Kittiwake, Fulmar.
Cormorant perched on ironwork, out to sea.

In Bridlington:

Turnstone and a possible Purple Sandpiper.

Any comment on the 'Purple Sandpiper' photo would be greatly appreciated.

Cormorant or not?

Cormorant

Spot the Turnstone

Easier to spot - Turntone

Looking at my bird books I think this is a Purple Sandpiper
(bill - touch of yellow at base)

Kittiwakes - centre of Bridlington!!
