Haworth to Home Hike

A bright, cold morning with a forecast of snow and strong northerly winds, prompted us to bus it to Haworth and walk back with the wind with us rather than against us.

The bus times worked out pretty good:-

Bus 1. 09:30 - Bradshaw Church to Denholme.
Bus 2. 10:10 - Denholme to Crossroads
Bus 3. 10:34 Crossroads to Haworth.

We had the obligatory cafe stop at Haworth and set off walking at 11:10, getting home at 13:50 - which we thought was pretty good going!

It was very cold hanging about for the buses, but once we got walking uphill we soon warmed up.

We went home via Haworth Church, along the top field path to Old Oxenhope Farm, down to Marsh Lane, down past Bent's Farm to the railway line.
We followed the stream to Oxenhope Village, passing the Co-op.
A right up to Upper Leeming and uphill to Leeming Reservoir.
A long uphill slog got us to the top of the moor by Oxenhope Reservoir (TMR).
We followed the long bridleway down the moor to arrive at Back Lane, Ogden.
Then Ogden Lane, Syke Lane,Bradshaw Farm tracks and home.

Birds:-

No bins and just the telling bone camera.

3 Swallow feeding over Leeming Reservoir.
Also here 2 Redshank.

2 Swallow feeding over the small pond at Old Oxenhope Farm.
A couple of Curlew, with the usual Meadow Pipit, on the moors.
Singing Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler.

Not a day to hang about, especially as Sue was wearing her "Masaratti" walking boots today,  and she took some keeping up to.

An enjoyable walk on a poor day.
