Oxenhope Reservoirs

I had a run out to Oxenhope this morning.

A cold, and at times, very wet outing with a temperature of 5 degrees.

It is nice to see some benefit coming from the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race. The Bradford Council were out in force picking litter from the road that runs from the Denholme salt pile towards the Dog and Gun pub.
Looks like the big road painting job outside the Kelham Farm Shop is related to the event as well.

10:15 Leeshaw.

Very cold with heavy showers and a strong wind.

Plenty of bird song here with Geese Honking and Lapwing and Curlew calling.

Birds:-

Wheatear, 3 Redshank, Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Common Gulls, Black Headed Gull, Lapwing, Curlew, 6 Oystercatcher, 1 Swallow, Meadow Pipit, Heron, c20 Greylag Geese, Many Canada Geese.

Distant Green Woodpecker calling and a second, (even more distant one) perched on a telephone wire - momentarily - can't be a Green Woodpecker - can it?
Just got the bins on it, before it vanished!!
