16:30 - 19:00
A look at Ogden late afternoon / early evening.
After seeing just one or two Blackcap this year - this evening 6 came along - a record in one outing for me.
4 Juveniles on the west side and an Adult F. and a juv on the east side! Great to see, I thought they had had a really poor year.
Forgot to mention - earlier in the week the Shelf trailer field had many Lapwings and earlier today c40 Lapwing were over Soil Hill.
Don't know what the deal is with the new Ogden turbines - they aint moving.
Other Birds: (No Waders).
2 Cormorant.
c160 Gulls.
Black Headed, Lesser Black-backed Gull.
At least one Common Gull for definite!
A very large Juvenile Gull that looked too big for a Lesser Black-backed?
5 Canada Geese.
The Mallard ducklings are still entering the war zone with 3 tiny 'lings and a couple, a bit bigger than bite-sized, that might see Christmas.
Green Woodpecker calling.
A bird calling from the woods when I went for a tinkle in the woods (the toilets are locked up nowadays).
(reminds me of the 'Frozen' DVD Abigail used to watch).
I went a looking for the bird but after a brambly trek the bird left the scene - a Juv. Kestrel came to mind.
On the way home:-
Kestrel, 4 Mistle Thrush, Little Owl.
Halifax - that will be One and eight please.
And DON'T jump off while the bus is moving
Common Gull - no so Common yet
Hear Yea, Hear Yea, Hear Yea
The Halifax Piece Hall is now open
Waders Tommorrow
I know its a rubbish picture but......
you just can't beat 'em
