>Soil Hill

18:50 - 20:15

We decided to catch the bus from Bradshaw Church to Denholme late afternoon and walk back.

As we waited for the bus to arrive, lightning and thunder was heard coming from the Ogden area.

The sky darkened and we decided that the moor was not the place to be today, so we abandoned the hike and went home.

Walking up Bradshaw Lane the storm arrived overhead, with a bright flash and a big bang and a massive rain drop downpour.

2 mins later we were p****d through!
House alarms were going off here and there - very spooky.

Many Corvids and Woodpigeon and a Heron took flight.

Later I had a walk up to Soil Hill where it was warm with some sun.

Birds:

Goldfinch, Curlew, Kestrel, 2 Linnet, Swallows, House Martin, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Black Headed Gull and that was about it.

A juvenile Linnet on telegraph line and a mystery bird on a very, very distant pylon.

Most probably a Blackbird!
