√Coach Road Lightcliffe & Priestley Green Area

11:00 - 13:00

Coach Road:

A trip out today to escape the gloomy weather in Bradshaw.
Still a tad gloomy here but not too bad.

A walk down Coach Road and left along the road at Catherine Slack for 400 yds or so before returning the same way.

Birds:-

My first Winter Thrushes with a fly past of c40 Redwing and 5 or so in nearby trees.
3 Mistle Thrush.

Many, many Blackbird about today.

Whilst under the tree canopy a very short glimpse of c20 large thrush types overhead, could have been Fieldfare but I did not get anything on them.

2 Calling Nuthatch (not seen), 2 Jay.
Possible Bullfinch playing hide and seek.
A Cormorant, out of place here, perched on a pylon.

An 'unusual' Dunnock with white in its wing, sat for half a mo. on the wall by 'The Fairway' house opposite the Golf Club House - no pic though, it was off in  a flash.

I Great Spotted Woodpecker eyeballed (miles off) and 2 others heard calling.

c30 Goldfinch were feeding along the main track.

13:15 - 14:45

Priestley Green Area:

A walk down the bridleway south of Priestley Green towards the A58 and back was followed by a saunter along Syke Lane, Shutts Lane and up the Coley Bridleway for 500 yds or so.(and back).

Good few Blackbird here also, with the usual small birds.
2 Pied Wagtail and a Heron overhead.

A kind Mistle Thrush sang 'Bye-Bye' as I returned to the car.

A few murky pics:-

Coach Road.
