Christmas present buying this morning Bah Humbug - as if!
Very successful as it turned out - Abigail will be pleased with Mr Santa.
Later in the afternoon we had an enjoyable stroll.
We went through Bradshaw Park, through Holdsworth area, up Windy Bank Lane and up Crooked Lane - a dumping ground near the top.
Across the road and up the Pule Hill (Ringby Top) track- a 'tad' grotty.
An enjoyable chance meeting with DJS up here.
We returned via Swalesmoor Road, Catherine Slack and Ambler Thorn.
No cafe on the route but at Ambler Thorn we gatecrashed Stuart's place where we were treated to coffee and two choc bars - each!
On again up Roper Lane and a glass of vino rose in the Raggalds Inn before heading home - not a bad afternoon out.
Birds:
6 or so Long Tailed Tit in the copse near Holdsworth.
A Jay and a Great Spotted Woodpecker(heard) at the bottom of Windy Bank Lane.
Along Pule Hill - very quiet - a Kestrel, couple of Meadow Pipit, many Corvids, small number of Lesser Black-backed Gull.
A distant adult Great Black-backed Gull on an outbuilding roof (pointed out by DJS).
Not a lot about really.
Looking down from Roper Lane to a distant Batty's pond - a few Canada Geese and a small duck, to distant to ID.
Raggalds Flood - lots of water - 2 Pied Wagtail hereabouts and a few Lesser Black-backed Gulls overhead.
A few birds in the pub.
Soil Hill from Pule Hill
'Tough' looking House Sparrow
