Bradshaw - Soil Hill - Ogden - Bradshaw

13:10 - 15:45

A cold start to todays walk especially on a wet and squally Soil Hill.
The squally showers packed up more or less by the time I got to Ogden Water.
It was windy for most of the outing today.
Ogden car park had 70+ cars!
(You know it's one of those stunning stunning days when you have to resort to counting cars in a car park).

Birds:-

Disappointing sums it up.
A few Common and Black Headed Gulls in the Bradshaw Fields. Nothing of note along Taylor Lane and Percy Road.

A very Windy Soil Hill had 3 or 4 Meadow Pipit.
A Snipe flushed from 100 yds away, called, rose in the sky before disappearing below the hill/mounds.
Always a good bird to see.

A Kestrel was being mobbed by 2 Crow types above Ned Hill Track.
A Pheasant in the plantation.

Not much happening at Ogden Water.
A 1st year Herring Gull (?) was trying to decide what to do with a 'dogs ball' that it had picked up.
(And I'm trying to decide if it is a Herring or Lesser Black-backed).

Fortunately, for the dog, the ball was not attached to it!

A Cormorant and the usual Gull sp.
Nothing seen along Passerine Alley, a few Chaffinch and Coal Tit heard.

3 Pied Wagtail along Cow Hill Gate Road was me lot.

Nevertheless an enjoyable bit of exercise.

I was wrong about Ogden Water filling up quickly - there is still a long way to go to Tipping Point.
