Ringby Lane & Howcans Bridleway - Swalesmoor Area

A crisp bright morning, cool for a while but it soon warmed up.

Ringby Lane:

Stacks of Corvids in a newly manured field.
C30 Gulls about, mainly Common Gull were here today.

Hoping for Snow Bunt I gave 'The Field' a good coat of looking at, but came up blank.

8 or so Meadow Pipit.
A large, c30, flock of Linnet were very skittish, and soon left.

Howcans Bridleway:

The walk along the Howcans bridleway might be better in the afternoon it was in the shadow of the hills, dark and cool.

A Green Woodpecker called then flew off down the track out of sight. It was heard again on my return leg, but not seen a second time.

Kestrel and 3 Redwing seen also.
The Redwing were obscured by Hawthorn Bushes, so there was probably more than 3!

A few of the more common sp. here as well.
An interesting area.

Back on Ringby Lane a weird experience.
A call / noise similar to a brooding hen was coming from below  a wall very near the track.
Although I was within 1ft of it - I couldn't find out what was making the call/noise though!!

Quite a pleasant outing again, but birds hard to find.
