A short 3 hours at Bolton Abbey today.
A better day than yesterday, cold and damp here to start with, but it brightened up as the day progressed.
I was hoping for a Tawny Owl to add to my tick list but a mind numbing check of the Holly type bushes failed to locate one.
Birds:
It was quieter here than previous visits with very few Thrushes seen and nothing much on a very swollen river Wharf. No Mandarin Duck seen.
Green Woodpecker, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, Dipper.
Kingfisher, 2 Jay, Coal Tit, Pheasant.
5 Nuthach, Mallard, 8 or so Red Legged Partridge and a few other sp.
5 Mistle Thrush seen at Addingham, on the way home.
A large flock of Lapwing, maybe as many as 1,000, seen on the wet fields from the Skipton - Keighley bypass.
