We had a busy day today, visiting family and friends.
At lunchtime we were near Skircoat Green so we called at the excellent cafe there.
Their 'Festive Sandwich' is a real winner.
Rather than have another coffee and a big cream bun with Sue, I opted for a 'walk about in the rain' looking for Waxwing.
As I left Sue in the café, scoffing, I went looking for some 'B' birds.
Sue thinks I'm becoming obsessed with 'B' birds.
I told here it was ok because today I was looking for a Waxwing and that it began with a 'W'.
I dipped on the Waxwing but I did get a 'B' bird in the shape of a Brambling!
The weather was pretty miserable during my 15 min saunter and the pictures are rubbish in the extreme, but I'll post a few anyway.
There were 100's of Redwing and Starling and searching through them for a Waxwing was a bit tedious.
I did enjoy missing my big cream bun in favour of the 'hunt' though.
And, because of all the calories that I sacrificed, I won't be ashamed to show off my; now; stunning figure, in my
itsy bitsy, teeny weeny , yellow poker dot, Bikini ….
come summer time!
Yellow quite suits me I'm told.
Birds:-
Starling, Brambling, Chaffinch, Blackbird, Mistle Thrush, Redwing, Blue Tit, Great Tit.
A Sparrowhawk sat motionless, hidden by branches,in a small tree along the allotment path - I tried to get a picture but as I zoomed, it zooooomed as well!
I was quite chuffed that I spotted it though.
A very elusive Sparrowhawk
