Coley - Priestley Green - Coach Road - Sefton Avenue and back

10:10 - 13:30

Not  a bad morning weather wise with the odd bit of drizzle and a bit of brightness.

On my  last outing (Soil Hill) I spotted a sheep that was caught in barbed wire, and I could not get to it, to help it.
Eventually I found a farmer who knew the owner of the sheep and he said he would phone the farmer - so that was a long do but a good result.
Today along Coley Church Bridleway, a 'stray' dog insisted on following me to play 'throw my stick'.
A passing jogger and myself tried to entice it to us, to see if it had a name tag - but it was only interested in the stick.
Eventually it got the message and sloped off - I think belonged to a local farm, it didn't seem too unhappy anyway.
It's a bit of a worry to see stray dogs -

Anyway...

I eventually manged to  have a good walk down past Crow's Nest Golf Club to Sefton Avenue before retracing my steps.

The usual birds were hereabouts.
c30 Redwing seen in the trees soon after the church with 6 or so Fieldfare flying over.
Mistle Thrush.

Not a lot seen till the Coach Road Area.

Coach Road Area:

2 Jay, c12 Redwing, 4 Nuthatch, 2 Treecreeper.
Great Spotted Woodpecker, Long Tailed Tit.

Sefton Avenue Area:

c40 Brambling, Great Spotted Woodpecker.

And a few other sp.

Great news on the Calderdale Birds blog - 4 Waxwings seen near Godfrey Road, Halifax.
I couldn't get there today alas.
Hope they stay around for a bit.
