Skircoat Green Area and Soil Hill

Sue dropped me at Skircoat Green on her way to see her dad this morning.
I had another look for the Waxwings but I came up blank.
4 other birders were on the prowl as well - CS, JM a local bloke and a bloke from Huddersfield.
I believe they dipped on the Waxwing as well.
It was nice to put faces to some initials!

There were lots of Thrushes around again, Redwing, Blackbird and Mistle Thrush.

There were probably double figure Brambling it various spots around the allotment area.

A pleasant hour out and about and NO rain.

Soil Hill.

14:00 - 15:00

After some 'C' shopping, Sue dropped me at Ned Hill Track.
It was cold here, with a biting wind with some north in it.

It was pleasing to see a pr. Stonechat along the track.

A few Gulls were in the lower fields.
A Kestrel was hunting near the Shay Fields, with a large flock of Starling (c200) hereabouts.
As I was looking over towards Ogden, A couple of large Black-backed Gulls were seen in the distance.
Looking at the white trailing edge of the Wing, I would plump for Great Black-backed Gull, but I could be wrong.

I flushed 6 Meadow Pipit from Soil Hill top.

A second Kestrel was seen later on and 2 Little Owl were seen, as I scanned from Taylor Lane.
