SUE decided to get a walk in this morning, before the forecast snow arrived, this afternoon!
We caught the 504 Denholme bus from Bradshaw Church to Denholme and then the Keighley bus from Denholme to Crossroads.
From Crossroads we walked down into Haworth and found a really pretty café opposite the railway station for a coffee and a bun before heading off for home.
The usual route (part of the Bronte Way) follows the railway line stream into Oxenhope.
Through Oxenhope we climb up Back Leeming and up again past Leeming Reservoir before the serious climb up to Thornton Reservoir (TMR).
From TMR a good slog leads, eventually, to Back Lane Ogden.
The route then is via Ogden Lane, Syke Lane and the farm track from the bottom of Ned Hill Road across fields, past 'The Mansion' and down to home.
The weather forecast was inaccurate and we had heavy snow in a fresh SW wind to accompany us all the way today.
On this walk we expect the breeze to be behind us, from the north, but today the unusually snowy, SW breeze, had the snow coming straight at us.
Going up the steep climb to TMR we wobbled about, looking like 2 Penguins - a tough day, today.
The camera stayed in the bag but I did take some snaps with my gas powered mobile.
Leeming had only small Gulls present as far as I could make out.
We passed TMR but you could not see it - you could only see 50 yds. here.
That was a pity because I was hoping some Pinkies, might have been forced down onto the reservoir, given the bad weather and the grapevine reports of Pinkies moving this morning.
I did get a tick though, in the shape of a Red Grouse flying low over the white heather.
I think the wife is trying to kill me off.
Looking back from near TMR towards Leeming Reservoir
A slippy steep bit
The slog along the moor
