Shibden Park and Bradshaw/Back Lane Oden/Soil Hill etc.

A Kestrel was perched on a telephone pole this morning as I ate my brekkie.

Shibden Park:

We took Abi and Emma to a very busy Shibden Park late morning so Abi could ride her bike.
It was a lovely sunny morning and very warm sitting outside the café, having a well earned rest!

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary birdwise.

Coot, Moorhen, 2 Mute Swan, Black Headed Gulls and a Mistle Thrush.

Bradshaw circular 15:00 - 17:10

I squeezed in a local stroll late afternoon today.
It was quite cool, after the warmth of Shibden park earlier, and very windy on the west side of Soil Hill.

Birds:-

Bradshaw Farm Track Area:

Little Owl, A Red Legged Partridge flushed from the track twice the second time it landed on a distant hillside.
Bullfinch.

Ogden Back Lane Area:( I didn't have time for the reservoir)

2 Goldcrest, Jay, Mistle Thrush, Moorhen.
Great Black-backed Gull very, very distant airborne.

Soil Hill:

2 Skylark.
Heron on the small pond to the east of the steep quarry embankment.

Taylor Lane:

Pr. Greenfinch (calling from the conifers - not seen).
Meadow Pipit.
2 Little Owl calling from their usual Taylor Lane location (not seen).

Not a bad 2 hours out and about really.

Shibden Park:

Bradshaw etc:

The new Ogden tree plantation seen from Back Lane

Best I could do!
Certainly looks like a GBBG but..
The black on the end of the tail is throwing me a bit.
Points to LBBG 3 cy but it looked very large.

Soil Hill Skylarks - again distant.
